Centers & Communities
Fill the calendar without turning the place into a resort
For retreat centers, ashrams, sanghas and churches with gaps in the season and a community that grew by word of mouth.
- Retreats that used to fill themselves, and no longer do.
- A generational shift nobody planned for.
- Photography that flatters the place and misleads the guest.
- The feeling that promotion and hospitality are opposites.

Questions we get
- We do not want to sound like a wellness resort.
- Then we do not write like one. What fills a retreat calendar is a clear account of what the days are actually like, which is also what keeps refund requests down.
- Most of our guests come back. Is marketing even the problem?
- A high return rate with a shrinking calendar means first-time guests are the gap. Those are two different jobs and usually only one of them is being done.
- We are a congregation, not a business.
- Understood, and the work changes shape accordingly: invitation rather than acquisition, with attendance and belonging as the measures.
